Description

Study in municipality Oldambt, Groningen, The Netherlands.

In assignment of AFEdemy, 7 students from the Hanze University for Applied Sciences and University of Groningen perform research in the municipality Oldambt. Oldambt is located in the northern part of The Netherlands and consists of a small town, villages and remote/rural areas. Winschoten is the main town in the area.

Objectives

  • Focus on mobility, the social networks, living needs, housing and housing adaptations of the older inhabitants.

Tasks

  • Research “what do older people from 80 years and older need in their daily life, mobility, social network and wellbeing to remain independent in their own homes in the villages”.
  • Perform interviews with older people and, if possible, will lead focus groups in the rural villages Scheemda, Finsterwolde and Bad Nieuweschans.
